My family was lucky enough to take part in an AMAZING photo project called ‘Pay It Forward’.
It was started by one of my favorite photographers, John Michael Cooper. I have taken two workshops with him and not only is he a very talented photographer, he is one of the nicest, most giving people I have ever met. His wife and business partner, Dalissa is also on my short list of favorite people. The object of the program is to have photographer’s families photographed.
I’m sure you can understand that as photographers, we are often behind the camera and miss out on being in the photographs. I have countless, incredible (if I do say so myself) photos of Conor and Savannah, but not a lot of the three of us together. This project aims to fix this by having photographers photograph other photographer’s families at no charge and then that photographer ‘Pays It Forward’ by photographing another photographer’s family (did I use the word photographer enough there?). This should hopefully create a domino effect. You can see lots of great session at http://www.roadsidefamilies.com.
My chain goes like this: John Michael Cooper photographed Eric Doggett’s family who photographed Kristen Roedner’s family who photographed my family. Who will be next? Well that’s a good question! What photographer’s family (and when I say family, I mean that very loosely. Lots of different types of groupings can be ‘families’) wants to get the Shannon Cunningham treatment? Put something in the comments or email me!
Before I show you the photos, I want to tell you about the lovely Kristen Roedner. I am a big fan of her photography as well as her beautiful spirit. She makes the world a better place and I am so thankful that I know her and can count her among my friends. We LOVE these photos – there is a 24×30 image above our fireplace and it makes me so happy to see it every day.

This is the one we chose for the biggie. LOVE IT!

Thank you my lovely friend Kristen for capturing us just as we are at this moment.
