Jenn & Dave: August 12, 2006

Not much B&W shooting at this gorgeous Hawaiian themed wedding. Jenn is another bride that I knew I would love from the moment we met. She’s a doll and she and Dave (and all of their family – some flew in from Japan for the wedding!) were a delight to work with. Everyone had fun and the casual atmosphere led to some great reception moments. (see below). ON to the images!

A toast before the ceremony.

I love Flower Girls
And Ring Bearers too. Look at the ring pillow – it’s a shell – cool!
Jenn and her Dad – thank you light gods!

I know this shot is done to death, but the guys love it and I thought the Hawaiian shirts and the mountains in the background were a nice twist.

This crowd easily wins the most enthusiastic dancers of the summer title.

Alisa & Eli: July 29, 2006

Alisa and Eli had a wonderful outdoor wedding ceremony and reception at Eli’s parents ranch this past weekend. They were surrounded by friends and family and danced the night away in the barn, which was converted to a dance floor. I loved being there. You two are wonderful people – thanks for making my job easy.

The Dress

Getting into the dress…..I think this is one of my favorite parts of the day.

Alisa coming down the stairs on the way to the ceremony. All her bridesmaids and best friends were waiting at the doorway to escort her. Does she glow or what?

Due to the ceremony set up, there was no place for Alisa to hide prior to walking down the aisle, so the bridal party walked in front of her so Eli couldn’t see her.

This is her Dad waiting for her at the aisle. Awwww….

Breaking the glass at the end of the ceremony.

A detail I liked from the reception

And now for the dancing!

Who can resist the YMCA?

Congratulations!

Jessica and Ben: July 22, 2006

So many happy tears! That is how I will remember Jessica and Ben’s lovely outdoor wedding this past weekend. They were so nervous and excited and giggly and weepy with joy! So were all of their guests.

It’s a privilege to shoot any wedding, but you know when you are witnessing an extra special union. I am still a big softy about weddings, and this one brought me to tears many times. Darn you awesome couples with genuine love! Congratulations, you two and thanks for having me at your wedding.

On to the pictures!

I am sure that I have never, ever, witnessed a more powerful reaction to a groom seeing his bride for the first time. I think this could be the best advertisement I have for seeing each other before the ceremony. It can be a truly magical moment that just the two of you can share.

Kim & Chris: July 8, 2006

Kim & Chris had a lovely wedding at their chirch followed by a reception at Renton Technical College. The room was amazing! So filled with light and a photographer’s dream!
Kim & Chris are a darling couple. At our original meeting, Kim was unable to attend, so she sent Chris in her place. He had a long list of questions and very thoughtfully looked through all my sample albums. He really wanted everything to be just right for Kim. They were a pleasure to work with. Congratulations!

Lise & Ben: June 25, 2006

I knew I would like Ben & Lise from the moment Lise called me to schedule a consultation. She said “Unfortunately Ben can’t make it, but I’m considering bringing a cardboard cut out of him, so you can still see him.” Adorable!

They had, as anticipated, a really fun and personal wedding this past weekend at the Top of the Market room, right in the middle of Pike’s Place Market. It was a gorgeous day and I cherished getting to witness their traditional Jewish ceremony.

Congratualtions you two! I LOVED being at your wedding. On to pictures!

The blessing from the Rabbi during the signing of the Ketubah.
Their beautiful Ketubah scroll.
No pictures of the ceremony were allowed,
but I did sneak this one of the chuppa being brought in.
And up they go!!!!
Another funny Lise story: Right before they did the Hora, she said” We’ve got to go rock out with the rabbi – I’ll be right back.”

The toasts – the Best Man (and brother of the Groom) gave the funniest toast I have ever heard – complete with a Powerpoint slideshow!

Amy & John

Amy & John had their wedding ceremony and reception at their church in Kirkland this past weekend. Amy is graceful and glamorous – so Grace Kelley. On top of that, she’s even nice! John grinned happily the whole day, especially when he was with Amy. Congratulations you two!

The flower girl with personality plus some. She was a hoot all day.

I love this picture of Amy getting ready.

Sacha & John

Sacha and John were married at her Mother’s home in Langley, followed by a reception at The Inn at Langley. I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding not only because they are a super fun, in love couple, but because my husband and I got engaged at The Inn at Langley, so it holds a very special place in my heart. On to the pics!

Getting Ready

Getting into the dress – I love how delicate her hands look – so bridelike!

The Ceremony. John got the most adorable case of ceremony giggles. This is probably the only picture of him that he wasn’t struggling to control himself.

The toasts

John teasing everyone in line with the delicious food.

They played the cutest game during the reception. I’ve never seen games during an actual wedding, but I totally approved of this one. The maid of honor would ask a question about the couple like” Who is the cleanest?” and the couple would answer by either holding up the bride’s shoe or the groom’s shoe. It got pretty funny – especially when they disagreed.

The cake.

Congratulations!
