So I ended up going with the birthday party picture for my personal holiday cards.
However, when I was up in Dallas a month ago, I spotted this field that was AMAZING at sunset and thought it would be just perfect for a lovely family portrait. The three of us trotted out there and I set up the tripod and self timer.
I’m sure the teacher’s kid acts up in school, and the athlete’s kid doesn’t want to play sports, but COME ON KID! I am a photographer and want to take nice pictures of you! At least you can all laugh at me.
Have a Happy and Safe New Year!
I don’t know where her shoes went.
Look at Conor dutifully looking at the camera while I threaten our writhing 3 year old. That bit of blue on the ground would be her.
Didn’t even wait for me to come out from behind the tripod for this one. Though I do like her face in this one. That’s why it got a little extra Photoshop love.
Then we got punchy and decided to roll with it. This was almost the holiday card photo.
So we didn’t get the perfect family photo, but Savannah did stand still in the perfect light, right at sunset, long enough for me to grab this and it’s now a 20×30 over our fireplace.
