Yearly Archives: 2009

Finale + Thanks

Phew!

2009 is coming to a close today and it has been a whirlwind year for me both professionally and personally. I shot more weddings and met more sweet newborns, newly engaged couples and fun families than I ever have.

I worked and played with some of the most amazing photographers this industry has to offer. Seriously, Austin has the most wonderful community of photographers and wedding professionals. I am so lucky to call many of them my friends. I learn from and am inspired by all of you every day!

I watched my little girl turn into a beautiful, funny, silly and smart four year old.  She and my husband are, as always, my biggest source of inspiration and the center of my life.

My work has left me satisfied and really pleased with the direction my little company is taking. It’s never been my goal to be the most famous photographer. I just want happy clients that trust me with some of the most important memories of their lives and luckily that is what I have. So for that, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys are the reasons I happily give up many of my Saturdays and spend late nights smiling at my computer screen while editing.

I hope that 2009 has been a great year for you and I wish you amazing happiness in 2010! I can’t wait to see what you all have in store for me.

XOXO

Shannon

Sarah + Glenn: Austin Maternity Photography

Oh Sarah and Glenn!

These two are a big part of Shannon Cunningham Photography. You may remember their cute engagement session, their awesome wedding at Vista West Ranch and of course, their awesome spread in The Knot!

I was thrilled {like jumping up and down} when they told me they were expecting a baby and even more excited when they asked me to document the pregnancy and the baby’s first year of life. WOO-HOO! I can’t wait to meet this little person. Sarah and Glenn are such wonderfuls souls and this little one is SO lucky to be coming into a house with these two as parents. They are going to be amazing!

Rebecca + Marcus: Austin Wedding Photography

Rebecca and Marcus’s wedding was on the first day that it felt like the summer heat had broken. It was one of those fall days that Texans dream of; sunny, cool, a light breeze. These two along with their families put a lot of thought and detail into this wedding and it really showed. There were lots of personal touches and reminders of family. The spice colored palette worked perfectly with the season. It was a pleasure to be there to see it.

Rebecca and Marcus opted for a piano player at their wedding and I thought that would mean calm mingling. Wow was I wrong. They hired Russell Boyd who was AMAZING! He knew every song ever made and kept the energy sky high all night. Seriously some of the best reception music I’ve ever been around. Fun times.

Reception – Thurman’s Mansion

Second Shooter – Tali Wildman

Dress – Alexia Gavela

Reception Music – Russell Boyd

Atalie: Austin Bridal Photography

Lovely bubbly Atalie!!

She has been such a delight to work with and when the weather didn’t cooperate on her wedding day, we decided to shoot post wedding to get her some fun bridal images. I love how we mixed traditional natural locations with more urban ones. It was so fun and it shows that you certainly don’t need to ‘trash your dress’ to do a post wedding session. It’s not about the dress per se, but about YOU and getting some cool images.

Doggy Lucy, who was just a puppy in Atalie + Phillip’s engagement session came along too! What a big girl she is!
