Melinda: Belly

Check out this hot mama!

Melinda is due soon with her first little girl. She welcomed me into her home and I heard all about her future little one. This baby is so lucky in that she is going to have about a billion adopted Aunts and Uncles and will be the most loved little girl on the block! Plus, Mom is pretty excited too.

Thanks you so much Melinda! I can’t wait to meet her!

My annoying old proofing system: An apology

I used to use an online proofing system that did a fine job except for one glaring, annoying problem. They spammed my clients to death with reminders. It drove me crazy because who wants that?

I am now on a happy, friendly new proofing system that loves my clients as much as I do and does not spam them. I just want to apologize for the annoying emails that are now being sent to you from the old proofing system asking you to renew galleries.

Don’t do it! If you want your gallery renewed – I’ll put it up on the new proofing system – no charge. Just let me know.

Again – apologies!

Jennifer & Justin: Engaged

Jennifer and Justin booked me from afar while they were living in Florida. They always knew they’d be coming back to live in Austin and have their wedding here, but in the meantime were planning their wedding long distance (which I know allllll about – I did that myself). We had chatted on the phone, but I’m sure they were wondering what they’d gotten themselves in to.

They are awesome and JUST my type of client. I am even more excited about their March wedding now that I’ve met and spent some quality time with them. They even trespassed with me! Clients that will break the law with you are really the best kind.

Can’t wait for the wedding! See you guys soon!

Stephanie & Jesse

Stephanie and Jesse are cute! They have just relocated to our fair city from North Dakota! Hello climate change.  I really enjoyed my time with them. They are adorable and very natural posers. They have a natural ability to know how to sit and stand together.

As I have lived in the south the majority of my life, I was the incredulous one who kept asking “Really? That cold? And so you would go outside and everything? Amazing!” They are happy to be here and I’ll say that we’re better off for having them. I can’t wait to hear all about your wedding this summer!

Also, in case any of you are wondering, I would TOTALLY travel to North Dakota. Haven’t made it there yet.

You all know I love an almost kiss.

AWEC Media Luncheon

So it seems that I need to have another wedding…..Why you ask? Well, I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph the AWEC (that’s Austin Wedding and Event Coordinators) Media luncheon last week.

It was super interesting because a panel of wedding industry vendors were talking about trends for the upcoming year plus some really compelling reasons for hiring a Wedding Coordinator (We’ve discussed this I know, but a reminder never hurts)

I, of course, ate it all up. It made me want to have another super stylish, fabulouso wedding with lighting and a European wedding dress. That’s probably not going to happen, but at the very least, I got some great ideas and tips for you all and got to hang out with a few of the AWEC ladies, who are great.

Info is after the photos- enjoy!

Geri A. Vela, owner of Alexia Gavela. I was so excited to meet him as several of my brides have purchased their dresses at his store. He will find the perfect dress for you – seriously. Women that get their dresses at his shop have a dress that is perfectly suited for them and it’s always tailored impeccably. Plus, after meeting him, I can tell you that he is a sweetie. Run, don’t walk.

These are what put me over the edge as far as wanting another wedding.

Erica & Josh!! They were part of the Bride & Groom panel because they are awesome. As a little sneak peek – their wedding is going to be published in a magazine very, very soon!

Kayla + Blake are married

Kayla and Blake were my New Year’s present! I got to meet them only a few weeks before their wedding (it’s a whole thing….no need to discuss here) but am so glad I did! They are sweet, their family and friends are wonderful and they are in looove! Their images are so joyous because they flat out enjoy being around each other. Their partnership makes me smile. Plus they let me do anything I want photographically – so yea!

Their wedding took place at St Louis Catholic Church followed by an awesome reception at the Hyatt downtown. The event was beautifully coordinate by Brittany & Kristen from Premier Event Source. They handled the few minor snafus (bustle, I’m looking in your direction) with such grace. I’ll be doing a separate post on all of the wonderful details that this wedding had because they just don’t fit here! So look for part II in a few days.

I also want to thank the lovely Tali Wildman for second shooting this with me!

In the meantime, let’s get to the good stuff!

I love it when the couple send notes.

Gorgeous church.

Destination: Partytown, Population: This reception

So the elevator didn’t close after the big exit. So funny. Sorry we busted your elevator Hyatt!

Here’s the bonus round. Because Kayla and Blake had such a lovely time line for their wedding, we were able to truck around downtown for a while to get some wonderful night shots. Several of these will soon be gracing my walls and website. You guys are awesome!!!
