Ashley + Zac: Married

Ashley and Zac were married on one of the first really hot day of the summer. You know that day that you wake up and know that Texas summer is upon you? But no matter – we all knew it was coming and these two wouldn’t have minded if there was a tornado – they were just happy to be with each other. I loved seeing how relaxed and happy they were right after the ceremony. Smiles were all around. Their fun bridal party (who doesn’t want bridesmaids that will sing Sweet Caroline with you right before the ceremony?) and great family helped make this day fantastic.

A big thank you to James who knocked second shooting duties out of the park.  I hope he blogs some of his shots as well because they were stellar! Plus he is a delight to have around. Go look at his pretty pictures! On a random note, James is also the creative mastermind behind out Urban Wedding Divas Profile Pic.

AZBlog02Can you see the resemblance between Ashley and Mom here?

Ashley is incredibly animated, which is a dream for a photographer. I believe that her bridesmaid just told her how many more minutes until the ceremony here.

AZBlog05So cute. Love this gal.

The reception was held at the UT Alumni Center. This was my first time shooting there and what a great space! You could do so many things with this room and the food was great!

I couldn’t pass this up.

I just really love this image and wanted to share it with you. I think it sums up the fun, young feeling at this reception.

Rachel + Ryan: Married

This sweet couple’s wedding at Red Coral Ranch made my heart full. I am quite the city girl, but this country wedding was soothing to my soul. Authentic, sweet, lovely, all about family and fun!

Hugs to you two. I wish you nothing but the best!

Also, thanks to Ms. Tali Wildman for helping me out on this one. I even posted a few of her pictures as I liked them so much (hope that’s OK Tali!)

They ran so quickly for their departure! When you think about it though, that should be your natural reaction when running through a tunnel of sparks… (This one is Tali’s by the way)

The Livestrong Challenge: Help me out and there’s something in it for you.

I am participating in the Livestrong Challenge for The Lance Armstrong Foundation this October in Austin, TX.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation unites people to fight cancer, believing that unity is strength, knowledge is power, and attitude is everything. Through the dollars and awareness that we raise, we can inspire and empower individuals, and we can make life better for the millions of people across the globe fighting cancer today.

Why am I participating? Well, there are lots of reasons, but there is one in particular that is very close to my heart.

2008-12-06o

My lovely, lovely Mother in law, and Savannah’s Gaga B,  Bridget Cunningham, was diagnosed with colon cancer last fall. She has made it through surgery and several months of chemotherapy like a champ.  Currently, we are waiting on some test results to see how successful the treatment was, but her doctors are hopeful and encouraged and so am I. I don’t want to sit around and hope though. I want to DO something.

To honor her fight and the fights of all cancer survivors, myself and a few friends from high school are team ‘Bridget’s Fighting Irish: Kicking Cancer in the Arse’ (Bridget is Irish in case the team name didn’t give it away).

I am asking for a donation of ANY size from you. You can donate online HERE.

What’s in it for you besides picking a fight with cancer and getting us one step closer to a cure? Well, here it is:

This is my husband’s Halloween costume from last year. He went as a giant yellow banana.

The Livestrong Foundation’s color is yellow, so I figured, if I can raise at least $1000, I will run the 5K in this costume. I will most certainly post photos here as well.

Come on – laugh at my expense and kick cancer in the arse!!! Donate HERE

Feel free to pass this along to anyone you know. Also, we’d love some more team members, so if you’re interested – join us!!

XOXO

Shannon
