Carter, Josh + Kara: Austin Family Photography

Oh you could not order up a cuter baby than Mr. Carter here. The hat! The cheeks! I’ll take three!

His dad Josh was in the lovely Chalene and Ethan’s wedding and I was so excited when he and his wife Kara called me up for a photo session. I loved getting to spend time with these three. It was a great morning.

Thanks so much you guys! I hope to see you soon.

Lauren + Travis: Austin Wedding Photography

Lauren and Travis – my silly, wise-cracking, hilarious and stylish couple. I love these two. It’s a great feeling to really be able to joke around with clients and these two have had me in stitches since our first meeting.

Their wedding took place on an amazing spring day out at Barton Creek Resort and Spa.  The most memorable part of their day for me was their emotional ceremony with handwritten vows and tears all around. I could feel the anticipation on both sides leading up to the ceremony and it did not disappoint. These two are so in love and so made for each other.

I am completely obsessed with their color palette. It was so fresh and unusual and classic all at the same time. The details are fabulous as well.

Cortney, Becky and Jana from BZ Events kept the day running smoothly as usual and made sure every detail was in place.

Congratulations you two! I have so enjoyed getting to know you and I hope that your life together is beautiful.

What the Eyjafjallajokull? Or ‘Why haven’t you responded to my email?’

So, as you know, this is happening in Iceland

So guess where my husband is right now? You guessed it – Western Europe. He’s been trying to get home for four days now and honestly, we’re not sure when he’s going to be able to get back. The whole thing has been pretty stressful for me with running the house, the little one and the business all on my own. The uncertainty is draining. I am happy to report that he is staying with some relatives we have in England, so he is at least comfortable and with good company. We sure miss him here though.

I just wanted to let you know that if it takes me a little while longer to get back to your email or phone call, this is why. I’m a little overwhelmed. Hopefully for not much longer though.

Thanks for your understanding.

Lauren + Allen: Austin Wedding Photography

Hooray for more spring weddings!

Lauren and Allen have one of the most comfortable relationships I have ever seen. They are completely in sync with each other and one begins where the other leaves off. It was something I noticed during their engagement session and I enjoyed seeing it again at the wedding. They are currently honeymooning in Africa (I KNOW! Awesome!) for three weeks and when I saw a hit on my blog from that continent, I figured I’d better get their blog post up! Hope that internet access didn’t cost you too much.

They picked a vibrant spring palette for their Vintage Villas wedding. I love how daring the color scheme was. It’s a great example of picking things you love and incorporating them into the wedding. Full vendor detail is below. Congrats and thank you for having me at your wedding.

Enjoy the photos!

One of my favorites of the day – this was right after the ceremony.

Here’s a tip for you up and coming wedding photographers – let the groomsmen hold on to their beers in a few shots – they’ll thank you with lots of cooperation.

April + Brad: Austin Wedding Photography

April: “Hi! I love your flower”

Brad: “I love your EVERYTHING!”

And that exchange was one of the first of many moments that made me tear up on Brad and April’s Wedding day. They were the first words they said after they saw each other. So sweet. Other memorable moments include learning which part of your body sweats first, how to have a good argument and The Tequila Bandidto (see below). Sometimes, the tears were of laughter…

I really adore this Austinite-living-in San Francisco couple. Although they live out of town, we are all social media addicts and I felt like I knew them very well by the time the came to Austin.  They are genuine, funny, smart and planned a heck of a wedding. You’ll love the details. It was a Farmer’s Market theme in citrus colors. One of the many things that stood out for me on this day was the love that their friends and family have for them individually and as a couple. There was joy everywhere and it was infectious.

They began their day getting ready at The Hotel St. Cecelia and since they saw each other before the ceremony, we were able to get some great photos at a relaxed pace. The ceremony was held at the always charming Mercury Hall. The day ran smoothly with the expertise of Becky, Stephanie and Jana from BZ Events. My lovely friend Sherry Hammonds was the second shooter. Full vendor information is at the end.

April and Brad – thank you so much for having me along for this awesome day. Tweet ya later!!

Handsome Brad, as shot by Sherry.

Before the ceremony, April and Brad had a non-denominational version of a Tisch, which is more typically held before a Jewish ceremony. The men and the women separated and gave advice and toasted the bride and groom. It was wonderful to watch and has been added to the long list of cool things I would do if I were to re-stage my wedding.  I shot the ladies, Sherry shot the guys.

Unbelievable cake ball display by Objects of Confection. Seriously, how cute are those?

One of the moments that made me cry from laughing. I stopped back into the bride’s room to change some batteries in my camera and walked in on a gentleman in a large sombrero getting a twirly mustache painted on his face. Behold the Tequila Bandito. Brought the house down.
