Austin Engagement Photography

Austin Wedding Photographer | Kelsey and Carlos

Darling Aggies studying to be Veterinarians? Sign me up! I met Kelsey and Carlos for their engagement photos on a threatening (weather-wise) day in south Austin. I knew I was in for a fun session when these two were completely unfazed by the drizzly weather that greeted us. In addition, they are some of my early morning troopers.

As we walked around and took photos, we were eventually greeted by the most amazing few minutes of sunshine. Like EPIC sunshine. As I recall, the rest of the day was completely dreary, so I like to think that Kelsey and Carlos’s sweet personalities and up for anything spirit is what brought the sun out.

Can’t wait to see you both in just a few months at Vista West Ranch!!!

Austin wedding photographer | New album style

It is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of printing your photos and bringing them to life, rather than have them sit around on your computer. Digital photography is amazing and allows us to document life so much more thoroughly, but the downside is you look at a DVD with my logo on it instead of a wall full of photography. So, I suppose, the gist of what I’m saying is PRINT THEM OUT DARLINGS! *stepping off soapbox*

Anyhoo, speaking of photos, I have a new album style to share with you. I think you’ll like it. It’s beautiful silk fabric and I’m very impressed with the printing and embossing. You’ll see a bit of my album design style for weddings, which is clean and simple with the images speaking for themselves. I think for wedding photography, that’s the way to go.

Check it out, see what you think, and as always you can come to the office to touch and feel for yourself.

Austin Engagement Photographer | Riley and Garrett

I’ve already sung Riley and Garrett’s praises for travelling to Austin AND waking up early with me for their session in downtown and Zilker Park without complaint PLUS looking amazing at 7 AM, but we could probably use some more photographic evidence huh?

While viewing these photos, check out their amazing chemistry and style! Riley is a friend of Kristen and Brad (whose adorable backyard wedding will also be coming up this month) and I can tell why those two get along. Sweet as can be and an incredible delight to be around. Riley and Garrett both work in the Finance field and I had fun discussing my former profession with them. (That’s right – I was a banker, that wore a SUIT everyday for many years).

Hilariously, like in Kristen and Brad’s engagement session, we spotted a be-costumed dude. A guy dressed as Spiderman jogged by at one point. You can see their reaction in the black and white photo below. It just goes to show that Austin is wonderfully weird at ANY time of day.

I always like to point out great style for shoots, so I will tell you to pay attention to what these two wore. Such great clothing choices! I will say though, that clothing choices come second when you are so obviously into each other like these two are.

Loved Love Loved my morning with you two and I can’t wait for the wedding! We are going to have so much fun!

Austin Engagement Photographer | Grace and Jim

OOOHHHHH! As with many of my 2012 sessions I can’t believe I haven’t shown you this one yet!

Grace and I chatted about the engagement session and batted about a few ideas and then she said “You know, we have a ranch west of Houston, would you be interested in shooting there?”

“Sure!” I said, as I will always say when a client makes a suggestion for a location I haven’t shot before and is important to them.

So one Sunday I trekked off to west of Houston, not really knowing what to expect. OK, you guys? This ranch? SO beautiful! Like 500 acres of beautiful. Add in Grace and Jim and their doggie Shiner and it was a magical afternoon. We saw barns and saw ducks and heard red-tail bucks bleating (is that right? Is that what they do?) and coyotes running away from us. AMAZING! Plus Grace and Jim and I blabbed away like long lost friends. THEN they had a chalk dust fight at the end of the session! What?! YES! They did and it was awesome and I love them.

I think you’ll agree when you see the photos.

THANK YOU Grace and Jim (and Shiner) for a wonderful afternoon. I can’t wait to see you at Kali Kate in the Spring! Oh and also, these two have planned a really unique location at Kali Kate for their ceremony. I can’t wait! It’s going to be so different from most Kali Kate weddings!

Austin Engagement Photographer | Bethany + Jordan

Yea! It’s Bethany and Jordan’s wedding week! I can’t wait to see them this Saturday and take a million pictures of their cute smiley faces! These two are such gems and we had a wonderful afternoon at the park, eating and paddle boarding (well they did the paddle boarding, I just stood in the water). Plus I got to meet their wonder pug Petey. Any dog as cool as him is welcome at my shoots.

Thanks for the fun I will see you two soon at The Vineyards at Chappell Lodge for your wedding!
