His dad Josh was in the lovely Chalene and Ethan’s wedding and I was so excited when he and his wife Kara called me up for a photo session. I loved getting to spend time with these three. It was a great morning.

Henry: Austin Baby and Family Photography

Sweet baby Henry! I love this little bundle of boy. I had so much with him at his parent’s gorgeous east Austin home. It was a nice change of pace from our studio shoot when he was a tiny newborn. Thanks so much you three! I can’t wait to see what he has in store for me next time!

Henry has a way cool room – it’s all robots and space stuff.

Jackson One Year Portraits: Austin Children’s Photographer

Oh Jackson, how you have grown.

Have I told you all lately how much I love following babies throughout their first year of life? It is such an amazing transformation in 12 short months. They go from little (adorable) lumps to full blown people. You get to see first time parents go from nervous and completely sleep deprived to total pros at the parenting thing (and probably still a little sleep deprived).

We had to reschedule this session three times due to weather and sick kids, but we made it happen on a chilly December morning down at the Capitol Building and Jackson brought his big personality with him.

I get to see Jackson next year too because he is going to be a big brother. I can’t wait to see him as he takes on his new role and I can’t wait to meet the newest addition!

Thanks so much for the past year Jen, Randy and Jackson!

Lisa + Nayon (+ a bunch of kids!)

This was a fun session!

It’s rare that I get to shoot an Engagement/Family session, but that’s what we have here. Lisa and Nayon are getting married soon and along with the two of them joining together, there are some kids that are getting some new brothers and sisters! Because that doesn’t happen everyday, we decided to include everyone in the photos and I’m glad we did. Four kids will definitely up the energy level of a session.

Grayson: Austin Children’s Photography + A Contest Update

My random number generator (aka Savannah) is at school at the moment, so we’ll have to wait until she gets home for a winner. In the meantime, let’s look at a cute baby and a gorgeous family!

Grayson and his mom and dad (Blair and Adam) were referrals from another fabulous client. A referral makes me feel great because it lets me know that you trust me enough to recommend me to your friends and family. Thanks Jen and Randy!

We met on a chilly but crisp morning and I don’t know if I’ve ever worked in light like this before. A little foggy, a little chilly, a bit sunny and WOW! Golden, beautiful streams of light. I have never shot at this location in the morning and it’s amazing what a change of time can do to freshen up a place.

Grayson is a sweetie. I’ve always loved having a girl, but little boys like this one make me realize that having a boy might not be so bad either. He’s so lucky with a mom and dad that just adore him. Thanks again you guys. It was wonderful to meet you all and I hope to see you again!

Alex: Austin Children’s Photography

I’ve been following around Alex since he was still in his mom’s belly.

Would you look at him now? Talking running, climbing, always thinking (you can practically see the wheels turning).

He is turning into an all around delightful little boy with two parents that just think the world of him. Thank you Matt and Deborah for letting me get to know Alex!

We finished up the session with a little park time. It’s been so fun watching you grow Alex. Stay sweet little guy.

Kathryn, Scott, Will, John Paul, Anna Laura, Claire + Baby W: Maternity + Families

If you have been living in Austin this summer, you may know a thing or two about the ridiculous heat we’ve been having.

Well, some portrait sessions just can’t wait for cooler weather. A maternity session is one of those. I trotted poor Kathryn, Scott and their four children out in 105 degree temperatures the other week. They came armed with a large jug of water and a great attitude. If you look through the blog archives, you will notice that I could have a category just for this family alone. I’m so happy I’ve been along for the ride with them and can’t wait to meet the newest arrival. I’m betting on girl.

I have a really great set of out takes from this series. One of the kids was running around in the back of several before we got this shot. I was very entertained while editing.
