End of the Year and Coming Soon | Austin Wedding Photographer

I have finished shooting weddings for 2010 and am currently knee deep in prints and albums of babies, brides, couples, details and awesome reception dancing. Austin weddings and families – you are AMAZING!

I need you to know that the time for ordering in time for Christmas has passed. There are just not enough hours left between now and then, but I will happily fill your order in January when I’m back from Christmas vacation.

Never fear though, I aim to keep your distractions at work going by blogging some sessions and weddings that I didn’t get around to blogging earlier in the year. I do genuinely try to blog everything, but sometimes life and work conspire against me and I don’t get them up in a timely manner.

It’s fun to look back at them in the slower times and this is a taste of what’s coming in the next few weeks.

I hope your holiday season has been delightful so far!

Four Seasons Austin Wedding Photographer | Sandra + Andrew

The Austin Four Seasons on a crisp and sunny Fall day, a romantic night time ceremony on the lawn under twinkle lights and a rocking reception that went on long after most of Austin was sleeping. This is most definitely the kind of wedding to end my year on.

Sandra and Andrew are my travelling couple and it was only fitting that their wedding guests flew in from all parts of the United States and Mexico to celebrate with them. I know how much effort Sandra put into her wedding plans and she had the extra challenge of currently living in Washington DC. As a former long distance planning bride, I know the extra challenges it presents, so I was so happy to see her vision come together so nicely on her wedding day.

Aimee Villa fromLizzeBelle was a big part of the reason that things looked so great and ran so smoothly. As I’ve told you all a million times, a great Wedding Coordinator not only makes things run more smoothly for the couple, but all of their vendors as well. Thanks for everything Aimee! ALso, big thanks to Tali for seconding as usual. Complete vendor info is at the bottom.

Thank you so much Sandra and Andrew for having me in your lives these past months. I hope you had a lovely honeymoon and know that you will have a beautiful life together. Talk soon!

xoxo ~shannon

We shot a mini Bridal Session with Sandra to start the day.I did zero retouching on her skin – it’s just this perfect. The first look – always a delight to me. Their bilingual night time ceremony incorporated many Mexican wedding traditions.

The reception was decorated in shades of purple with gold accents. The lighting really helped transform the space and made it glow.

The food looked great too. Something I love about the Four Seasons is that they will customize anything you want for your menu. I can honestly say that this crowd had the best time, was the best dressed and probably on the whole, the best looking group of reception guests I have ever seen. As far as I know, they might still be dancing. 2011 party goers – the standard has been set.

Do you know these lovebirds? | Austin Wedding Photographer

I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving!! I had a great time with family and friends and am still full to be quite honest.

I love the transition from Thanksgiving to the Holiday season. It’s finally OK to get out out stockings and decorate the Christmas tree (or in the case of a lot of my friends, the Menorah and Hanukkah decorations). One of my favorite things about my location in central Austin is this stretch of road where people decorate the native pine trees along the road. It’s just another one of those things about Austin that makes me smile and never EVER want to leave this city.

Savannah and I usually take a few trips to this spot – one for looking and at least one for a photo shoot (duh). Today we took our first trip.

We found THIS among all of the beautifully (and quirkily) decorated trees! (Pardon the iphone photo)

I am currently obsessed with who this couple is. If you know them, send them my way – I have an engagement session waiting for them. Seriously – I love a grand gesture.

Women’s Federation Mansion Wedding | Kristin + Nik

This was a fun one.

When I was sorting through the photos from this wedding, the thing that jumped out at me was the sheer joy and delight that both Kristin and Nik had on their faces the entire day. Pretty much all brides and grooms are happy, but there was a radiance about these two that had me smiling fondly behind my lens all day.

The ceremony took place at Redeemer Lutheran Church followed by a purple inspired reception at the Women’s Federation Mansion. Dancing, thoughtful toasts, candy and late night donuts filled the late night hours.

Kristin and Nik are currently in Maui for their honeymoon so they left to a shower of leis, which made for amazing photos and lots of laughing.

Big thanks to Tali as usual for second shooting and also to Barbara Hearne and her team at Barbara’s Brides for keeping the day flowing beautifully.

Thank you Kristin and Nik for allowing me to be a part of your lives these past months. I have loved getting to know you both and wish you so much happiness.

Also, I am starting something new. When I sort through the photos to choose the blog images, I tend to choose waaaay too many to fit in a blog post. So starting now, I’m going to be posting an extended gallery on the Facebook page. Feel free to tag away, leave comments for Kristin and Nik and share it.

Sharonna and Derek | Austin Four Seasons Wedding

Sharonna and Derek live out in San Diego and I believe they brought a little of the magic California weather to Austin this past weekend. It was such a beautiful day for a wedding.

We had not met before the wedding and it was such a pleasure to learn that they are beautiful people on the inside and out. I felt like I have known them for a lot longer. I LOVED the classic and chic ivory and black color pallette they used. It was so elegant and I know that Sharonna put a lot of effort into finding just the right details to make this wedding pop and wow did it ever.

Thanks to James for second shooting (and the lovely dinner conversation) and a big thanks to Meredith and her team at the Austin Four Seasons. They were a delight.

Bon Voyage Sharonna and Derek and I’ll talk with you soon! XOXO
