Austin Engagement Photographer | Seaholm Power Plant Shoot

I made y’all wait for this one didn’t I?

I had been wanting to shoot at the Seaholm Power Plant forever. I pass it constantly when I’m coming into the studio and I have always been so taken with that deco lettering and glass blocking on the front. It’s also such a mystery building – not a power plant anymore, but they have parties (and weddings this year, so I hear) there. Plus they’ll be turning it into an event space with offices/studios. I really wanted to get in there, poke around and take some pictures. So I made a reason to do so.

Enter Kathryn and Chance. They had a small, hometown wedding earlier this year and hadn’t planned on having engagement portraits. They were so adorable that I asked them to help me out with this shoot. It was HOT in the space the day we shot and they were such troopers. Dust, dirt, weird 60 year old wires – they braved it all and I can’t thank them enough.
