There is something new happening at Shannon Cunningham Photography and I am so excited and nervous at the same time!

The portrait side of Shannon Cunningham Photography is now PhotoFrolic.

Late last year, I decided I wanted to create a more boutique experience for my portrait clients. Weddings and portraits are very different and have different needs from consultation to final product. I came to the conclusion that the only way to make this happen was to separate the wedding and portrait sides of my business. Thus PhotoFrolic was born. The name sums up my enthusiastic and fun approach to family portraiture. I think you’ll like the changes from booking, to ordering sessions, consultations, a referral program and varied and fun new final products

I am, of course, still taking wedding commissions, so please help me spread the word about PhotoFrolic and Shannon Cunningham Photography!

Austin Wedding Photographer | Corina + Ben

Woo! More catch up posts! I really like this one and while I was getting it ready for posting, I realized I haven’t posted their wedding either! That will be coming soon – it was suuuper cute.

Corina and Ben had lots of ideas for their session and luckily they live in a super cool neighborhood in east Austin. We had SO many fun options for shooting. I vividly remember this day. It was one of those spring days where a cold front comes through in the afternoon. It was hot and muggy when we started and by the end, when I was driving home, it was 20 degrees cooler and raining. So happy we snuck in these photos at sunset.

So enjoy the engagement! The wedding should be coming up soon.

Austin Wedding Photographer | Website Update

I’ll bet you thought I was going to have that placeholder of a website up FOREVER didn’t you? Well, to be honest, I thought I might as well. The blog serves me well and I thought about making a switch to a blogsite, but so many of my clients have told me that they like seeing a website as well, so it’s staying!

Despite the flupocalypse of 2011 last week, I’m making some progress. I’ve begun to put up galleries from 2010 weddings and sessions. It’s still a bit piecemeal right now, but I plan to put up a new gallery every day for the next week or so. Check back often.

It is maddening and completely fun at the same time to redo a website. I love revisiting older events, but the final decisions are so difficult. I want, and generally do, get to know you pretty well before your wedding, and because of that, your images have strong emotional pulls with me. It’s the reason I don’t shoot 50 weddings a year (not that it’s a bad thing, it’s just not for me). I couldn’t get to know you, or serve you, in the way that I think you deserve. So it’s like picking between children for the final cuts.

Flu Week 2011

So my little banana had the flu last week (Influenza Strain B 2011, to be specific) and then very generously passed it along to me. Last week is a blur of fever reducing medication, kleenex and watching Phineas and Ferb. She is fully recovered and I think I’m close.

So just a quick apology for slow email/phone calls/getting you your images/mailing you anything. I think we’re back in business this week.

Austin Wedding Photographer | Cassie and Sam

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged this wedding!! You’ve seen it in bits and pieces as it was featured on The Wedding Chicks, but I think it deserves its own post no? So…onward.

Cassie and Sam’s wedding at Vista West Ranch was a delight (as pretty much every wedding I’ve ever photographed at Vista West has been.) It was in shades of pastel pink and cream with a delightful rustic-chic feel to it. So romantic!

In addition to a beautiful wedding, it was an incredibly fun wedding as Cassie (who I believe I called a firecracker in a post about her bridals) and Sam are super-de-dooper fun people. Lots of laughter and good times during the day.

Thanks so much for having me along you two! I’m happy we have you living back in Texas – it’s a better state for it!

Petal Pushers and Wendee Sawran put together a really adorable table arrangement. Love those table numbers.

Wendee really outdid herself on this one too – the guest book was a vintage and distressed window payne that guest signed with a white paint pen!

Sam is a meteorologist – hense the awesome and hilarious cake.

I am shipping out a TON of albums this week – I’ll be showing you more soon, but wanted to share Erica and Josh’s Star Hill Ranch wedding album (which actually shipped out a few months ago).

Partially, because I just love them and also because I hadn’t seen this combination for the cover before and it looked so lovely among the leaves in the fall – just like their wedding.
