Do you know these lovebirds? | Austin Wedding Photographer

I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving!! I had a great time with family and friends and am still full to be quite honest.

I love the transition from Thanksgiving to the Holiday season. It’s finally OK to get out out stockings and decorate the Christmas tree (or in the case of a lot of my friends, the Menorah and Hanukkah decorations). One of my favorite things about my location in central Austin is this stretch of road where people decorate the native pine trees along the road. It’s just another one of those things about Austin that makes me smile and never EVER want to leave this city.

Savannah and I usually take a few trips to this spot – one for looking and at least one for a photo shoot (duh). Today we took our first trip.

We found THIS among all of the beautifully (and quirkily) decorated trees! (Pardon the iphone photo)

I am currently obsessed with who this couple is. If you know them, send them my way – I have an engagement session waiting for them. Seriously – I love a grand gesture.

Casting Call: Austin Wedding Photographer

That’s right!

It’s the slightly slower summer season and I am looking to do some creative and FUN shoots with ideas that have been rattling around in my brain. I have (almost – don’t want to jinx it) one of the coolest spaces in town lined up for a shoot and I need MODELS!

Currently, I am looking for a couple AND a pretty, lively gal to be a bride for a shoot.  Later on, there will be other opportunities for families/kids.

Here are the details and the requirements and the perks. This shoot will take place sometime in the next 15-60 days.

For the couple shoot - you must be a couple, or at the very least, willing to be really lovey with each other. This part of the shoot is going to be a very styled engagement shoot. You’ll have access to makeup and wardrobe and I have some of the coolest vendors in town working with me. You will look amazing, I promise. You also must be able to model during the week. My time at the location is going to be short and specific. I need you to be flexible. Also, you have to do what I say. This is an editorial-style shoot, which means my ideas win and you have to do them. I promise it won’t be anything weird. You also have to be OK with me submitting these photos for publication.

For the bridal shoot - same dealy. We’ll supply wardrobe and makeup/hair. You just have to do what I say and be available during the week. See above.

Who ‘s Eligible?  Anyone! Past clients, future clients, people that have been married 5 years. I’m looking for a specific ‘look’ is all.

What Do You Get? Well, first of all – a super fun photo shoot! Also, you’ll get a disc of high resolution images or some prints for your hard work.

Interested? Woo-Hoo! Please send me an email with the following:

  1. A  photo of both of you (a snapshot is OK).
  2. Both of your basic sizes (tops, pants, shirt, dress, etc). We’ll need those to pull wardrobe.
  3. Names and contact information.

Thank you so much for helping me create some AMAZING images!!

Kristin + Nik: Austin Engagement Photographer

When you see a certain flower that is in this part of Texas for a very specific time period, you will know how behind I am in blogging.

My slow blogging does not mean I love these two any less though. Kristin and Nik and I had a great time during their engagement session. We battled traffic on South Congress during first Thursday, wind, the threat of rain – pretty much a full plate of drama as far as shoots go.  It didn’t matter how weird the circumstance, though, these two were calm and trusted in me.  They are so lovely together. I think you’ll agree.

I can’t wait for your fall wedding! Thanks to Barbara of Barbara’s Brides for bringing us together. (Aren’t we all dreaming of fall this time of year?)

Alex + Ethan: Austin Engagement Photographer

Alex and Ethan are cool and love coffee. I can’t not love a couple that wants to get a latte in the middle of a session.

These two fab people are getting married in Mexico, but wanted some fun Austin city flavor for their engagement session. I love this session because I feel like we got a more cosmopolitan view of our city. I think it matches the two of them to a ‘T’.

Thanks for getting up early with me!

Lisa + Nayon: Austin Wedding Photography

Lisa and Nayon were married at The Lakeway Resort and Spa back in January. You may remember their fun engagement/family session from a while back. I loved how this wedding was the creation of a new family. The six of them fit so well together that you know it was meant to be.

I often referred to Lisa as my superstar organized bride. She was so on top of everything and I loved the design her and Melanie Tipton came up with for the reception. So classic and elegant. There are also a lot of sophisticated kid touches added too – make sure to scroll down for those.

I also have to thank my second shooter James for all of  his work and for being so fun to shoot with. A few of these images are James’s. I liked them too much not to include them.

Congrats Lisa and Nayon and kids! I am so thrilled for the six of you and wish you many happy days ahead.

James’s Shots – I love them.

A Children’s Lounge area was set up in each corner of the room.  They stocked the area with games and crayons and crafts.  They were well used.

The escort cards were adorable. They included a little recipe book of family favorites called ‘Table for Six’.
