Leigh + Mica: Austin Engagement Photography

As you should know by now – I love morning photo sessions in the winter! SUCH pretty light! I don’t know what it is about January morning light, but I LOVE it!

Leigh and Mica were the best of good sports getting up early with me and trekking around South Congress. They are getting married in Nashville this summer, but wanted some Austin photos to have at the wedding. They are adorable and super photogenic (Hello cute dimples!) . Thanks for such a great morning!

Leigh had a case of the giggles early on. I love it.

We also incorporated Leigh’s cute Mini Cooper in to the session. That is a car with a lot of personality.

Susan + Rob: Engaged

Susan and Rob!!! I have known Susan from way back in our Chi Omega Days. We are pledge sisters! It was such a thrill for me to meet Rob and shoot her engagement photos.

These two are delightful to be around. They laugh all the time and just have that easy way with each other that all the great couples have. They are getting married in just over a week and I can’t wait to hear all about it!

Colleen + David: Engaged

Colleen & David!

I spent a glorious afternoon shooting all over town with these two. These two are ‘Austin meets London’, with Colleen, a native Austinite and David hailing from London. It’s always a little tricky for me in engagement sessions where it’s my first time meeting a couple, especially when I’m not shooting their wedding, but I instantly felt at ease with these guys. They are fun and easy to chat with, plus they are a great fit for each other. That always comes through on camera.

Thanks Colleen & David (plus the lovely Becky Brock for bringing us together)

Sarah + Eric {and Brock} : Engaged

Lovely Sarah + Eric!

We met on a windy and slightly overcast day for their engagement shoot, but boy do I love a cloudy, moody day! It gives such a nice look to photos. Plus, they brought their doggy, Brick, who is adorable and helped me create one of my favorite engagement images to date! (You’ll know it when you see it below).

Big thanks to Sarah and Eric who are a joy! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!!

Lindsay & Lee: Engaged

Oh I am soooo behind on blogging! So…Lindsay & Lee.

Love. Them. The two of them met out in San Diego, but as all good Texans do, Lindsay brought Lee back to the promised land. I can relate.

We had a wonderful morning in historic Gruene and as always, I am so happy that I got to spend some time with them. I really love engagement sessions. It’s such a relaxed time and it helps me make better images at a couple’s wedding. Also, you’ll not be surprised when I’m laying on the ground or climbing on something to get a shot.

I love knowing about my clients and want a totally comfortable relationship with them by the time the wedding rolls around. This is such a personal, relationship driven business for me. You are not a number or a date to me! Always remember that.

Also, take note of what these two are wearing – I loved it – especially Lindsay’s rockin’ shoes. As I always say “Coordinate, but do not match”.

On to pics!

I love harsh light, and while I know it’s not the most comfortable to pose in, it looks so awesome.

Yes, I found an alley in Gruene

Stephanie & Jesse

Stephanie and Jesse are cute! They have just relocated to our fair city from North Dakota! Hello climate change.  I really enjoyed my time with them. They are adorable and very natural posers. They have a natural ability to know how to sit and stand together.

As I have lived in the south the majority of my life, I was the incredulous one who kept asking “Really? That cold? And so you would go outside and everything? Amazing!” They are happy to be here and I’ll say that we’re better off for having them. I can’t wait to hear all about your wedding this summer!

Also, in case any of you are wondering, I would TOTALLY travel to North Dakota. Haven’t made it there yet.

You all know I love an almost kiss.
