Austin Wedding Photographer | Merrill and Blayne

Engagement session season is in full swing!! I have a week’s worth of love lined up for you!

Next up are the adorable Merrill and Blayne. We hit lots of spots around Austin and their classic style was perfect for each location. Ladies, note Merrill’s scarves! I love scarves for photos!

They are also easy to talk to (Merrill and I were in the same sorority – I KNEW I liked her the moment we met), laid back and generally just pleasant to be around. I loved that it was just a chatty, fun afternoon – there was never a lull in the conversation. I really enjoyed getting to know them better on a beautiful spring afternoon. They are planning a fall Wildflower Center wedding and it’s going to be just lovely – I can’t wait!

Kristin + Nik: Austin Engagement Photographer

When you see a certain flower that is in this part of Texas for a very specific time period, you will know how behind I am in blogging.

My slow blogging does not mean I love these two any less though. Kristin and Nik and I had a great time during their engagement session. We battled traffic on South Congress during first Thursday, wind, the threat of rain – pretty much a full plate of drama as far as shoots go.  It didn’t matter how weird the circumstance, though, these two were calm and trusted in me.  They are so lovely together. I think you’ll agree.

I can’t wait for your fall wedding! Thanks to Barbara of Barbara’s Brides for bringing us together. (Aren’t we all dreaming of fall this time of year?)

Stephanie + Paul: Austin Engagement Photography

Wow, was it cold the morning we did this session. Like, crazy-most-Texans-would-not-be-caught-dead-outside cold. However, the lovely Stephanie and Paul had come in from Houston, so we made a fun winter session out of it!

Stephanie and Paul and are an awesome combo of smarts, silliness and smiles. Despite the frigid temps, I had a blast hanging out with them and then almost getting kicked out of a bookstore {more on that below}. People, let me remind you the power of the phrase ‘But this is their engagement session.’ It is usually followed by ‘OK, then do whatever you want.’ Hooray for love!

Thanks so much for being such superstars you guys! I can’t wait for the wedding.

Stephanie and Paul love books and hanging out at bookstores (as do I!) . In fact, when we were finished with the shoot, I left them at the store. They may still be there for all I know! Hope you guys had fun at my favorite Austin bookstore! Thanks again!

Lisa + Nayon (+ a bunch of kids!)

This was a fun session!

It’s rare that I get to shoot an Engagement/Family session, but that’s what we have here. Lisa and Nayon are getting married soon and along with the two of them joining together, there are some kids that are getting some new brothers and sisters! Because that doesn’t happen everyday, we decided to include everyone in the photos and I’m glad we did. Four kids will definitely up the energy level of a session.

See if you can guess who belongs to who ;)

Lisa and Nayon, I can’t wait for your beautiful winter wedding at Lakeway!

Angelle + John: Austin Engagement Photography

I met Angelle and John on a slightly windy, overcast day. Sometimes this weather can really work with you in terms of setting the mood. Angelle and I had worked for a long time to get this session on the calendar and I’m so glad we did. Her and John and so laid back and showed up looking stylish! We did a little mix of urban and natural and had a great time. These two are just pleasant to be around and I felt like I was with old friends the whole time.

They were married in a small ceremony in New Orleans just a few weeks ago and I will tell you now I am so jealous I did not get to come shoot. I know you only had 12 people at the wedding, but New Orleans! I loved hearing about all the details. Congratulations you guys and I hope that you and the dogs are doing great!
