Detail of the Week: Fun and Games

It’s Detail of the Week time!!

Chelsea and Jacob’s spring wedding was all about BIG fun! Big guest list, big wedding party, big time dancing, big Aggie celebration.

To keep the guys occupied and relaxed before the wedding, they broke out a game of Washers. Now, I don’t necessarily think this is a great option for every wedding venue. The Driskill would probably frown on it. However, for a beautiful Hill Country venue like Vista West Ranch, it was perfect. They guys had a blast, as did some of the earlier arriving guests.

Fun=Good.

Detail Of The Week : Austin Wedding Photographer

I love wedding details. You are all so creative and unique and every wedding has something new and inspiring for me to photograph (and drool over – if I ever do a vow renewal, it will be the most blinged-out-detail-fest.)

So as the busy spring season winds down for me, I’d like to start highlighting some of the incredible details I see. Lots of times, they make the blog post, but not always, so I’d like to show more of them. It could be a bouquet, or shoes, or cool favor – just some fun Friday eye candy for you.

First up, a small but awesome detail from Cassie and Sam’s wedding at Vista West Ranch (big blog post coming once I’m back from my trip). The trend lately has been kinda vintage, kinda shabby chic and I love that look, but I do love a bit of glamour now and then.

Another gorgeous wedding at Vista West Ranch!

Chelsea and Jacob are high school sweethearts that have been together for 8 years. This wedding was basically a big party for what everyone already knew to be true – that these two were meant to be together. Mix in incredible weather, a bunch of crazy Aggies and a gorgeous garden party feel and you have one amazing day.

Oh you guys, I have been knocked flat on my back by the worst cold I have had in some time. I think the antibiotics are finally kicking in, but WOW was I feeling terrible.

Celia + Dustin: Austin Wedding Photography

Celia and Dustin are as sweet as can be. When I’d speak with other vendors working on their wedding they would all say the same thing. “Don’t you just LOVE them?” Why yes, yes I do. They had a beautiful wedding in Dripping Springs at Vista West Ranch. The sky was very threatening all day, but held out to allow for a very emotional outdoor ceremony. These two are so happy when they are together. No matter what else was going on, they would always have a smile for each other. There is a beautiful warmth about their relationship.

The wedding was coordinated by the always amazing Wendee Robbins Sawran of Lucie’s Events with Floral by Petal Pushers. I also have to give a HUGE thanks to my friend Sherry Hammonds for second shooting this wedding with me. It’s always so fun to have her around and man is she good.
