Elise + David: Austin Wedding Photography

David & Elise!!

This was such a fun wedding. The reception was so rollicking that I almost ditched my camera to join in. People from New Orleans are fun, y’all.

Elise is also one of the most animated people (and probably the most animated bride) that I have ever met. Adorable. I hadn’t met David prior to the wedding day but he did not disappoint. He is a joy. These two have such a lovely, easy way with one another. It’s like they’ve been together forever and it was a treat for me to spend the day with them and their guests.

Thanks to my always fabulous second shooter Tali and thanks to David & Elise! You are going to have such a wonderful life together!

First look – have I mentioned to you that no one ever regrets doing this?

The ceremony was held at St. Ignatious south of town. It was a really beautiful ceremony.

This is why I must shoot weddings in New Orleans someday or just more weddings of New Orleans-ians. The Second Line dance! What a way to get the party started! Umbrellas! Handkerchiefs! A big dance line all around the room!

the one with the dress and the grandmother in the background is ICONIC. it reminds me of my passed beloved grandmothers. they passed of different diseases that robbed them of their personalities (alzheimer’s and parkinson’s) long before i was old enough to really and truly deeply appreciate them or celebrate life’s milestones like my wedding with them. This image brings tears to my eyes. Truly touching. btw, you should know… my teacher’s in art school said i had a tendency to project too much emotion into artwork, but i beg to differ. it’s just “enough” and it’s how i see it. :-)
